Internship Week One

As BlackCurve continues to progress, it has looked to expand its team in order to contribute towards its mission of helping companies optimise their prices and grow profits. And so, Blackcurve has opened its office doors to its very first intern.

Blackcurve's Marketing Intern, Chandan Dhiman will be uploading a weekly log detailing the projects she completes over the course of two months.

Week One:

"As a penultimate student at the University of Cambridge reading Politics & Social Sciences, it has been a while since I last saw 7am, or heard London Underground’s ‘Mind the gap between the train and the platform.’ Despite my frustration with the peak time commute, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first week of interning with Blackcurve’s marketing division.

As this internship will be my first professional level work experience, the highlights of this week have definitely included receiving my very own email domain (!), as well as getting to know the rest of the team – running office jokes included!

After familiarising myself with the software Blackcurve uses to manage its marketing efforts, I was given the responsibility of scheduling the launch of our online content across all social media accounts, and look forward to begin writing my own content for upcoming blog releases.

Very early into the internship, I was immediately struck at how fundamental transparency and communication was for the Blackcurve team, and this was demonstrated by the regular team briefings and conference calls that occurred throughout the week. It was refreshing to see how inclusive the team was, and every effort was made to involve me in meetings, despite my lack of knowledge on aspects of the company.

The marketing division has already been able to provide me with a wealth of knowledge, from learning about the importance of strategic pricing, to also understanding the way in which Blackcurve’s software developers improve the product itself through a combination of customer-led and internal innovation.

I very much look forward to getting stuck into my project, where I will be working on launching Blackcurve’s new referral scheme, as well as developing the company’s community building efforts.

Be sure to keep up with my exciting internship series which I will be posting weekly."
