My third week has flown by! I have been kept busy with the development of People of Pricing, and also with research on future blogs that could be posted.

Through this research, I have learnt a vast amount about pricing, the arguments for and against it, and the undeniable truth that it is impacting our lives more and more every day- even with our food shopping!

I added to the list of potential titles, and sent them to our main blog writer, Moira. However, I have been encouraged to choose one for myself to write. I am really looking forward to this- as an English student, I do love to write!

It will be a challenge as it falls outside my more secure knowledge base, but I am excited to rise to the challenge and pass on what there is to know about hospitality and dynamic pricing!

My main focus, though, this week, has been getting People of Pricing to the next level and preparing to launch it. Last week, I began collecting relevant names who would a perfect fit to the people we wanted to feature on the blog. Then, the emailing process began.

I sent out over 100 emails, then went back to my list, updated and added names that fit into the target of People of Pricing. And then I had to wait for responses.

Luckily, this did not take as long as I imagined, and a fair percentage of people I had contacted showed signs of interest in being involved. I learned that for every 100 people you contact in this way, the odds are at just 1% will acknowledge your communication.

After learning that fact, I felt quite buoyed by the initial responses I had received.

The answers to the questions- which you will be able to see on the People of Pricing page- genuinely interested me. It seemed quite clear to me that not many people had a direct path into pricing, but that is something that will change.

The people I heard from all expressed a strong belief that the role of pricing is only going to become increasingly important in the future, and given what I have learnt so far at BlackCurve, I can easily believe them.

I have really enjoyed the freedom I have been allowed with this project, and being able to be in the driving seat with the launch.

Not only that, but it has genuinely been so interesting to learn about the different perspectives of people within the pricing industry- I hope you enjoy it too!
